Design Trend: Styling Your Children's Walls with Books

One really popular trend in nursery and children's decor these days is to add colour with beautiful books. Olivia's books, which I displayed on spice racks purchased from Target, instantly brought a dose of much needed brightness into an otherwise monochromatic room. You don't have to limit yourself to books. Add in little soft toys, or baby rattles. I placed these racks quite close to the floor, with the idea that baby would pick out his/ her book for us to read together. wall_shelf_1 Try not to overcrowd the shelf, instead staggering them, with the larger books in the back. You could rotate them every couple of weeks. We have an extensive book collection but very little shelf space, so we keep the others in the closet. My next project is to add some wall shelves above the glider (where I originally hung the little birdhouses).

Top Shelf:  Stuck, Mister Seahorse, Flora and the Flamingo, Olivia Counts Bottom Shelf: Never Say No to a Princess, How to Catch a Star, The Giving Tree, Tap the Magic Tree, Olivia Plans a Tea Party. Captain's Mirror, from Target; Aqua Dots Floor Bin, from Land of Nod (no longer available) but here is a similar one.

These are some of the books in our little collection. I can't stop myself from buying books with beautiful artwork. And, for your reference, some more beautiful books for your collection.
